Mark Vaughn

Mark is the original partner, starting Alpin Sales in 1994. His experience includes 4 years as Sales Manager at Mountainsmith Packs and Sales and Shipping/Receiving at The North Face in the Denver facility. Prior to forming Alpin Sales, Mark was a manufacturer’s representative at Webster & Associates. Mark acts as key account manager and helps to pilot the Alpin Sales ship. He loves to serve and support people, our team, our retailer’s, and our brands. Mark’s passion is to show people a better world and to appreciate all that makes this world great. He is passionate about giving back to his community by serving at local shelters and food banks.

Meg Fogg
VP and Partner, Key Accounts Manager, Analytics Expert, Personnel Manager
Meg has been in the outdoor industry for 24 years, working a variety of environments, from brick-and-mortar big box to specialty online to rental to sales. As a previous planner and merchandiser, Meg uses her analytics in approach to sales. Meg is an avid skier, mountain and dirt biker, and loves to spend time camping with her family. Meg is driven by details, organization and being thorough. She cares about presentation and precision. She values relationships above all else, striving to treat all people with compassion and honesty. She is dedicated to her business and to her co-workers. Meg is always practicing the art of listening and learning from others.

James Hicks
Special Projects, Sales and Service Asset Manager, Mentor and Trainer
James has decades of experience in the outdoor industry working mainly as a retail buyer and operations manager for stores throughout CA, NV, OR, UT and CO. James has roots at Lowe Alpine Systems as production manager and Director of Western Operations for Breeze Ski Rentals. Once Intrawest acquired Breeze, he became involved in retail purchasing and rental operations for Copper Mountain and Winter Park. James also held the position of Area Manager at Specialty Sports Venture and has been with Alpin Sales since August 2010. He loves a project, details and accuracy are his way. Honesty, transparency, and integrity and how that affects his relationships is key. A true thinker who is always seeking to learn more about any subject and always willing to share his vast array of knowledge. Be aware of his sarcastic and dry sense of humor.

Layne Neilson
Specialty Sales Representative, Multichannel Distribution Specialist
Layne has strong experience with traditional brick-and-mortar with a focus on ecommerce platforms and everything in between. Layne started his merchant career as a buyer for a retail industry leader at Copeland Sports in San Luis Obispo, CA. Layne was forever infected with a respect for the outdoor industry and fell in love with the community that comes with all the lifelong partnerships. Since Copeland Sports, Layne continued his buying journey with Sports Warehouse, Leftlane Sports, TJX Companies (Sierra Trading Post - Buyer II) and most recently VP of Purchasing at Proozy.com. With an affinity towards stewardship for the outdoors, Layne is very excited to join the Alpin Sales team to focus on building brands that pioneer making the world a better place for all to enjoy through sustainable manufacturing processes, inclusion of all people, and building authentic relationships to help propel brand stories and market share.
